Richard Kahler
Rick Kahler, MSFP, ChFC®, CFP®, CCIM, President of Kahler Financial Group, is a life-long resident of Rapid City, South Dakota. He began his professional career in 1973, selling and appraising real estate. He founded Kahler Financial Group in 1981, and in 1983 became the first fee-only Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) in South Dakota.
Rick specializes in investment advising and financial planning for business owners, professionals and retirees. His practice integrates traditional financial planning with the psychological elements involved in preparing for the economic future. He has co-authored four revolutionary books on the psychology of money: “Conscious Finance” “The Financial Wisdom of Ebenezer Scrooge”, “Facilitating Financial Health” and “Wired for Wealth.” Rick has been a columnist for The Rapid City Journal since 1991 and is also the co-founder of Onsite’s “Healing Money Issues” workshop.
Rick currently serves as Chair of the Financial Therapy Association, is a past director of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors Midwest Board, and chaired the South Dakota Investment Council.
