This session is designed to transform how financial advisors support couples on their journey to financial harmony and partnership. Building on real stories and practical strategies from my book "A Couple’s Guide to Money," the session will cover why financial conversations between couples can be so difficult—and how to turn those challenges into trust-building opportunities. Key topics include foundational communication techniques, visioning and inspired action exercises that align life values, methods to resolve common money conflicts, and approaches to handling cross-cultural and personality differences within financial planning for couples. We'll also explore actionable frameworks for guiding couples through life transitions and embedding lasting behavioral change, supported by conceptions that advisors can use immediately in client meetings.

This topic is exceptionally timely, as 2024 research shows money remains the leading source of conflict in relationships, with financial stress rising during times of economic uncertainty and life transitions. The session equips planners with the latest relationship-centered, practical tools to bridge the gap between technical advice and the emotional realities of couples’ decision-making. As more advisory clients seek holistic, values-driven support, attendees will gain the skills and confidence needed to foster true partnership and financial well-being for the couples they serve.?
