Over the last year all the talk has been about offering private investments to clients. But most advisors were trained to manage public investments and are still in the early stages of learning about how to offer and manage private investments. This presentation is designed to help RIAs build a foundation in private investments by answering the following questions:

  • What are Private Investments?
  • How Did We Get Here?
  • Do Clients Really Need Them?
  • How Do They Work?
  • How Can I Offer Them to My Clients (Key Considerations)?

Learning Objectives:

  1. Analyze client financial profiles to determine the appropriateness of private investments and explain to clients the nature and portfolio role of private investments.
  2. Evaluate different types of private investments and their fund structures to select appropriate options for client portfolios based on individual client needs and circumstances.
  3. Apply key evaluation criteria to assess potential partners and service providers who can support the implementation of private investment strategies for clients.
