Why did NAPFA decide to cancel the 2020 Spring Conference?

The NAPFA 2020 Spring Conference has been cancelled due to the Novel Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19). We have spent the past week closely monitoring the situation and working with our partners in Denver in hopes of moving forward with the event. In alignment with our first priority of protecting the health and safety of NAPFA members and event participants, we made the determination that the only way to ensure that priority was to cancel the event.

How will the refund process work?

We plan to refund registration in full and without fees to those who are registered for the Spring Conference. Registrants will have the option of a full refund or credit for another NAPFA National Conference occurring from March 2020 – June 2021. We will contact all registered attendees the week of March 23, 2020 with information on the refund process.

What should I do about my hotel reservation?

Hotel reservations made through NAPFA’s room block will be automatically cancelled. Attendees will receive a cancellation confirmation email from the hotel directly. Attendees who made their own housing reservations must cancel directly with the property they selected.

Will NAPFA 2020 Spring Conference sessions be delivered in another format?

We are in the process of determining potential avenues for delivering portions of the planned in-person educational program virtually. We expect to announce plans to do so in the next few weeks. While it is not a substitute for the valuable in-person learning and hallway conversations, it is consistent with our objective to deliver experiences that elevate planner competency.

What is the status of other scheduled NAPFA 2020 events?

We continue to monitor the trajectory of COVID-19 and related national guidelines and will make informed decisions as we approach each event.
