Jim Reardon J.D., CFP is Chief Investment Officer at ProActive Capital Management a fee-only registered investment advisory firm in Topeka Kansas. He is a graduate of Kansas State University and Washburn University Law School. Jim has been a Certified Financial Planner® since 1987. He holds licenses in law, securities, and insurance.

Jim served on the board of the Financial Planning Association of Greater Kansas City for over 6 years. He served on 3 national advisory task forces on International Professional Standards, ethics, and self- regulatory Issues for the (National) Financial Planning Association. Jim co-hosted a WIBW radio talk show for over 5 years. He has presented numerous educational programs for trade and professional organizations including the Kansas Medical Society, The Kansas Bar Association, and the Mid-America Beverage Wholesalers to name a few. He has presented retirement programs for employee groups including Hallmark Cards, AT&T, Burlington Northern, and the State of Kansas. Jim has been quoted by Kiplinger’s, the Wall Street Journal, Smart Money, and Best Life.

Additional Information

Jim was a Topeka City Councilman for 12 years, he served in both the army and air force national guard. He has served on several community boards and investment committees including the Topeka Chamber of Commerce, The Villages, and The Countryside (United Methodist Church) Forever Foundation. Investment committees include the 501 School District Foundation, the Hummer Sports Park Foundation, and the Kansas Department of the American Legion. Jim is a collector of books and baseball memorabilia. He is married to Linda Loehr Reardon a long-time teacher in the Seaman School District. They are members of the Washburn and KSU Alumni Associations and the Washburn Whiting Society. They enjoy travelling, family outings, and raising grandchildren.
