Peace of Money, LLC is a boutique, women-owned, fee-only financial planning firm based in Newburyport, Massachusetts. We provide fiduciary financial planning services by the hour and on retainer, and we accept no third party compensation or commissions. We pride ourselves on providing creative and thoughtful financial planning services with a personalized touch to clients of all backgrounds and income levels. The firm specializes in values based, socially responsible investment advice. The firm is a dynamic company seeking a team member to support our wealth management, financial planning and tax preparation services.


The Associate Advisor is a full-time position. You’ll be working closely with the Lead Advisor and Operations Manager to participate in and support the financial planning process - attending client meetings, writing financial plans, researching investments. In addition, the Associate Advisor will have ongoing projects and routine responsibilities to keep the firm operationally efficient and compliant. Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead Advisor in all aspects of the financial planning process:
    • Pre-Meeting: Gather, assess, organize and input client financial information
    • Meeting: Attend and participate in client meetings, take notes and prepare to-do lists
    • Post-Meeting: Prepare financial plans: to-do lists, retirement projections, investment portfolio recommendations
    • Analyze and rebalance managed portfolios, prepare financial reports
    • Prepare and check individual tax returns
  • Support the Operations Manager in the firm's daily operations:
    • Routine general communication with clients (e.g. scheduling inquiries, referral requests, document gathering)
    • Maintain our client relationship management record system (Wealthbox)
    • Maintain compliant books & records
  • Collaborate with Lead Advisor and Operations Manager to:
    • Develop and hone the firm’s standard operating procedures, with an eye towards improving efficiency and providing value
    • Support the firm's growth, development and innovation (i.e. we are working towards B Corp certification)
    • Other responsibilities to be determined in collaboration with the Lead Advisor

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1 year experience in a helping field or profession directly providing service, advice or consultations to clients or patients
  • Available for full time, Monday through Friday
  • Strong, private home internet connection (We are working 100% remotely at this time. We anticipate re-opening our physical office in 2021, and would transition from remote to at least 1-2 days per week at the office in Newburyport, MA.)
  • Confident and experienced user of our core technology (G Suite, Microsoft Office, Dropbox) and willingness to learn new software
  • Above average organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability and desire to work and solve problems independently
  • Ability and desire to work in a workplace committed to continuous improvement
  • Excellent time management and executive functioning, i.e. a ‘systems thinker’
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing confidential customer and client information

Physical Requirements

  • Able to operate a computer keyboard, telephone and other pieces of technology with manual dexterity
  • Able to move in a home office space (office is accessible via 3 steps), including bending, reaching and lifting
  • Able to lift up to 15 lbs, occasionally up to 30 lbs.
  • Able to remain in a stationary position for up to 80% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

  • CFP®, candidate for CFP® certification, or interest in pursuing the CFP® or AFC® certifications
  • At least 1 year experience in financial services or related fields, especially fee-only financial planning
  • Experience with tax preparation or work in a tax-related field
  • Experience with our broader technology suite (Airtable, DocuSign, Hello Sign, Morningstar Office, Quickbooks Online, Right Capital, ScheduleOnce, ShareFile, Slack, Smart RIA, Timeular, Venmo, Wealthbox CRM, Windows 10 OS, Zoom)
