Tony founded Matheson Financial Partners in 2017 after selling investment solutions to financial advisors for over 20 years. Prior to founding MFP, Tony was head of sales with some of the largest asset management firms in the country, including Principal Financial. His first sales territory took him to New York for 4 years until he returned home to lead the sales division for the San Francisco Bay Area region.

His vision was to design an independent fee-only firm to deliver comprehensive financial planning as a fiduciary, specializing in solving the challenges that many sales professionals face. 

Over his career, Tony has helped advisors identify solutions and implement investment strategies for their clients. He has been a featured speaker at various industry events on topics including economic forecasts, optimizing social security payments, and college planning.

Tony is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Theological Studies from Bethany University in Santa Cruz, CA. He grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and currently lives in Walnut Creek, CA with his wife Barbara and their 2 kids. When he’s not working, you’ll probably find him on his Peloton bike or a softball diamond. He has completed marathons from SF to NYC and has volunteered with various organizations including Financial Planning for Cancer.
