Planning Specialties

Many life decisions are financial decisions, and financial decisions are life decisions. That’s why I enjoy working with clients at the intersection of retirement and taxes. I often assist people who are retiring early (before RMDs and Social Security), easing into retirement, are self-employed or solopreneurs, have been widowed or divorced or received an inheritance. We provide financial planning and investment management. By collaboratively working together on an ongoing basis, we can optimize your retirement plan, lower your taxes, and improve your investments.

Our ongoing and collaborative process begins with a One Page Plan before you decide to become a client so you can “test drive” working with us. Once you decide to become a client, we do a formal and comprehensive plan. Then we get going by implementing your plan and following a systematic service calendar so things don’t fall through the cracks. And don’t worry, there’s no cancellation fees so if for whatever reason we aren’t a good fit in the future we part ways as friends.

Retirement doesn’t just happen. It requires planning. But retirement planning can be intimidating. You just want to stop doing the things you don’t like and start spending time doing the things you’ve been putting off all these years. But you have a lot of decisions to make. Some of them are even irreversible. Google provides conflicting answers. Worse, many “financial advisors” are nothing more than salespeople pushing their company’s products. Much like a guide, we can be your decision making partner. Since we’re Fee-Only, we don’t sell products for a commission and are Fiduciaries all the time, not just sometimes. The CFP® and Enrolled Agent (tax) require at least 39 hours of continuing education per year. When you go to the doctor, you expect them to be competent. You should expect the same from your financial planner.
