Alvin is passionate about helping professionals and entrepreneurs in their 30s and 40s make smarter financial decisions. He is a Financial Planner and Managing Partner of District Capital Management, a new kind of financial planning and investment management firm for everyday people. He is the recipient of the 2021 Financial Planning Association Diversity Scholarship.
Alvin holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation – the most respected and recognized investment designation in the world. He is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, and has a Masters degree in International Relations from SAIS-Johns Hopkins.
Alvin has been named one of Washington, DC’s Best Financial Advisers for 2022. He has also been quoted in top media publications such as Time, Forbes, Business Insider, and Yahoo! Finance.
In his spare time, Alvin enjoys swing dancing and Pickleball. He currently volunteers as Treasurer for the Lutheran Social Services, a non-profit that helps refugees and immigrants in the U.S.
