"I believe that financial planning is a positive, powerful tool for changing lives and that it should be accessible to everyone regardless of net worth or investment amounts"

I’ve always had a passion for financial planning for as far back as I can remember.  I received my bachelor’s degree in engineering and started down that career track.  But I continued to move toward the business world by earning a masters degree in management & finance while working during the day.  After receiving my MBA, I started managing business divisions in large companies, but still could not stop the financial planning field from calling to me.

After more than 20 years of corporate leadership positions, I decided to take my career in a different direction to fulfill my passion fully.   I returned to college again to complete the educational requirements, passed the CFP® examination and fulfilled the required years of relevant experience.  Now, as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, I’m able to bring high quality and affordable financial advice to everyone the way I always wanted; with no minimum asset requirements, no commissions and no product sales of any kind. To achieve my goal of financial planning made convenient and available for all, I travel to local clients and offer virtual planning options for others.

My family and I have lived in New England almost all our lives and enjoy taking advantage of everything the region has to offer.  I’m also an active member of the Garrett Planning Network, the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), and the Treasurer and a Director of the Meriden/Wallingford United Way.

Additional Information

Synergy Financial Planning's Investment philosophy is based on Modern Portfolio Theory and other teachings of Nobel Prize winning economists. Following this philosophy, we develop a diversified portfolio of asset classes using low cost index funds with the aim of maximizing return for a given risk level. The portfolio design focuses on your situation; your goals; and your willingness, ability and need to take risk.

Our belief is that outperforming the market through stock selection or market timing certainly is possible; however, the odds of success are so low that it is not rational to try. We further believe that while we cannot control or predict market returns, we can control the costs we pay and the risk we accept.
