We base our investment philosophy on the same principles that inform our financial planning services, combining our individual advisors’ expertise to craft an investment portfolio to help you attain your long-term goals.
When it comes to investment portfolios, we take an active approach to asset allocation. Your asset allocation will be based on potential long-term market conditions and may change according to current economic factors.
Even as our asset allocation process is an active one, we take a passive approach to filling those asset classes, meaning we mostly use diversified exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and mutual funds. This diversification is designed to help insulate you from short-term market conditions while pursuing potentially higher long-term returns.
Additional Information
Karly’s inspiration for a career in financial planning was sparked in college when she realized that many of her peers didn’t understand basic budgeting. Karly’s dad had taught her to be responsible with money, and she wanted to build on that knowledge so she could help herself and others. Today as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, she is thrilled to help our clients understand the why and the how of their financial planning recommendations so that they can feel confident that they are on the right track.
As a Lead Advisor, Karly assists in prepping for client meetings, preparing financial plans, and researching clients’ questions. With a background in tax projections and preparation, she also reviews tax returns and analyzes the potential tax impacts of strategies such as Roth conversions. Karly enjoys the tax-planning aspect of her responsibilities, particularly when she works with people who are getting close to retirement, when the impact can be crucial. She counts her most satisfying career moment as the day she presented a financial plan to a client, who thanked her, saying a weight had been lifted off them.
Outside of the office, the resident of Mouth of Wilson, VA, enjoys time with her husband and daughter. Surprisingly, she is not a fan of chocolate or coffee. In her spare time, you might find her spending time with family, running, reading, or crafting. She also enjoys pancakes from Cracker Barrel and a good hike with her pup, Myles.
