John Bohnsack
John Bohnsack, CFP®?, grew up on a farm in rural North Dakota, where he learned the values of hard work, risk-taking, and entrepreneurship. He earned his CFP®? designation in 2011 and received NAPFA’s New Professional Award in 2019 for his impact in both professional and volunteer roles within the fee-only planning community. His insights have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, and Michael Kitces’ Nerd’s Eye View. John teaches in the Financial Planning Program at Texas A&M University, where he helps students connect classroom theory to real-world client applications. He is passionate about the transformative power of financial planning and its ability to change lives. Outside of work, John enjoys reading, mountain biking, and spending time with his dog, Henry, a Toy Australian Shepherd, while supporting his wife, Melissa, and their two daughters in their many activities.
