Jay Mooreland, MS, CFP® is passionate about progress. Progression comes from learning – both from others and from our own mistakes. As an investor and advisor, Mooreland made many mistakes and saw countless others make mistakes. He created The Emotional Investor blog to help advisors understand why investors make those mistakes and learn correct perceptions to improve future outcomes.

Mooreland founded The Behavioral Finance Network for advisors to leverage behavioral finance content and tools in their practice. He has published two books: The Emotional Investor and Investment Illusions He lives in the Twin Cities of Minnesota and enjoys the change of seasons – the bitter cold and the warm sun…always something to look forward to. Academically, Mooreland earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from San Jose State University and a Master of Science in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota.
