2017 National Spring Conference Speaker

Lora Brown

Lora Brown

Lora practices exclusively in the estate planning, trust and probate arenas. Her practice began in 1991 at the former Seattle law firm Bogle & Gates, and then with Stokes Lawrence where she was a partner for over a decade before leaving to start her solo law practice in 2006.
Lora helps high net worth clients evaluate and implement estate planning options to achieve their family goals, including philanthropy and multi-generational planning, while minimizing transfer taxes. She also represents fiduciaries (individuals and corporate fiduciaries) and beneficiaries (including individuals and charitable organizations) in the administration of trusts and estates, and assists in resolving disputes in such matters through the use of nonjudicial agreements and mediation. Lora serves as a special representative for minors and other incapacitated persons, representing their interests in trusts and estates. She also drafts and reviews premarital and cohabitation agreements.
Lora is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), and currently serves as Washington State Chair and as Chair of the Western Regional of ACTEC. She is also Chair-Elect of the Practice Committee of ACTEC.
Finally, Lora is the happy but occasionally exhausted ‘ring leader’ of her busy household, which includes a 16 year old daughter who is a Junior at Shoreline Christian School, and two dogs and two cats.
