This short course is designed to help those in the audience learn the fundamentals of how to keep a person alive until proper 911 help can arrive to take over. The American College of Surgeons put together this course focused on the traumatic side of preventable deaths, and we added a section on how to treat common medical illness, as well. The course includes 45 minutes of instructive presentation, 30 minutes of skill stations, and a short time for questions and answers. It is presented by the retired Surgeon General of the Air Force, PK Carlton, Jr.
