Robinson Smith Wealth Advisors (RSWA) is an independently owned fiduciary fee-only comprehensive wealth management firm that supports 200+ client households from offices in Portland, ME, and Portsmouth, NH.


Job Concept

This position is located in the Portland, ME office. The Lead Financial Advisor (LFA) will team with a Senior Financial Advisor (SFA), Associate Advisor (AA), and Service Specialist to deliver an outstanding experience to each client. It is expected that the LFA, after learning the RSWA technologies, processes, and clients, will have the experience and skills necessary to handle client relationships on their own.


Core Accountabilities:

• Create and maintain high-quality customized financial plans for clients

• Prepare and present planning/investment recommendations to clients

• Coordinate and maintain data collection for existing and new clients

• Oversee Associate Advisor/Service Team regarding client service and administration

• Provide input for clients' investment strategies

• Manage and maintain client meeting scheduling

• Participate in prospecting meetings but accountability for new business is with the SFA

• Help create client marketing communications with weekly newsletters and blogs

• Involvement in Investment/Financial Planning meetings and assisting with research

• Engage effectively in Team activities, including marketing events

• Involved in COI outreach and create a COI network, with the help of SFA

• As a small firm with many functions, other tasks may be assigned as needed


An Associate Advisor (AA) position is also posted for RSWA and that position will have responsibilities of scheduling, organizing client meeting prep and follow-up, and assisting with data entry. However, the LFA will be responsible for those tasks until that position is filled and will perform them on an as-needed basis in the future.


Desired Skills and Experience:

• A four-year degree

• CFP or CFA certification is preferred, or obtained shortly after employment

• 2-5+ years of experience in financial planning/investments

• Desire to work in and engage in a team environment

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills

• Ability to work independently

• Can take initiative and act proactively by anticipating problems and raising suggestions

• Strong work ethic and attention to detail

• Knowledge of financial planning software/MoneyGuidePro a plus

• Proficient with technology such as MS Office 365, Excel, etc.


Compensation and Company Benefits:

We offer competitive compensation that is commensurate with experience. Partial remote work is offered but the candidate must be able to be present in the Portland, Maine office for client and firm meetings which occur three to four days per week.
