Financial Strategies, Inc. – Brookfield, WI

Financial Strategies, Inc. (FSI), one of Wisconsin’s leading Fee-Only, comprehensive financial planning firms for over 33 years, is seeking an experienced and talented CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner (CFP®) to join our planning team. FSI’s distinct value is helping our clients have a sound financial future and the financial security they deserve. We always put our clients’ best interests first.

POSITION

As a Financial Planner with FSI, you have the opportunity to deliver a unique client experience in a team environment that leverages our Fee-Only philosophy. Our comprehensive planning process encompasses all areas of financial planning including tax planning, investment planning, estate planning, and retirement planning, as well as the ongoing advice needed to develop a sound financial plan. By building relationships with the clients we serve, our advisors have a clear understanding of each client’s unique financial circumstances; and in turn, deliver the most unbiased advice for financial planning and investment strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interface with clients during comprehensive discovery meetings to understand each client’s financial objectives, desired outcomes, and circumstances.
  • Conduct ongoing investment research with specific emphasis on providing investment advice, fund selection for clients’ portfolios, fund due diligence, and portfolio reviews based on each client’s unique profile.
  • Monitor and review clients’ investment portfolios to ensure alignment with their financial plan and changing economic and market climates – including asset allocation, portfolio rebalancing, tax mitigation strategies, and risk management.
  • Develop, present, and implement financial plans following FSI’s established workflows, financial planning software, required CRM documentation procedures, and CFP® Board and NAPFA Fee-Only standards.
  • Proactively remain current with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in financial planning and wealth management.
  • Work in tandem with a well-established paraplanning and financial advisory team to prepare and deliver the firm’s service models to clients.
  • Participate in potential business development or networking activities to acquire new clients based on the firm’s ideal client profiles.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and personal accountability.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, switch gears, and adapt to technology-driven environments.
  • Occasional availability for evening appointments

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation required.
  • Series 65 license.
  • Minimum 5 years of financial planning or client-facing wealth management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in interfacing with prospective and existing clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong relationships with clients.
  • Tax planning knowledge is a plus.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in understanding different client financial situations and personal financial circumstances.
  • Must be able to deliver FSI’s distinctive and thoughtful client experience aimed at providing appropriate and unbiased advice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a well-established team environment while also working independently on assigned roles and tasks.
  • Business development and networking experience in the affluent and mass affluent markets a plus.
  • Agreement with FSI’s core values, including providing personalized care to each client with a foundation of high ethical standards, uncompromising integrity, honesty, and respect.
  • Proficiency in financial planning software and tools. Experience with eMoney, Holistiplan, and RedTail CRM software is a plus.
  • Open-minded, proactive, humble, empathetic, thoughtful, confident, and friendly personality.
  • Dedication to and passion for the Fee-only, comprehensive planning model.

BENEFITS

  • Retirement plan with company match.
  • Paid vacation and sick time.
  • Performance-based bonuses.
  • Opportunity for advancement based on performance, personal growth, and team fit.
  • Team-oriented culture that is interested in helping you learn and grow in your career as evidenced by paid licensing and continuing education costs.
  • Other lifestyle benefits (Wellness, PTO, paid holidays, team lunches, etc.) provided.
  • Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience in the field of financial planning.
  • Equity participation opportunities available based on the individual’s long-term contribution to FSI’s revenue goals and acquisition and retention of clients.
