Hiring Financial Planner


Otto and Associates is a small, fee-only financial planning firm based in Norwich, Vermont. We offer holistic, impartial financial planning services to approximately 150 clients and client families. These services include retirement and estate planning, advice on charitable giving, college planning, insurance analysis, tax planning, budget and cash management, and investment management. We have been working with clients in the Northeast and across the country for over 30 years and focus on cultivating life-long relationships with clients of all ages.


We are seeking an advisor to join us in providing our clients with outstanding service. Our advisors and support staff function as a team with all clients, so the ability to work collaboratively with current planners and staff is paramount.


Responsibilities of this position:

• Collaborate with other planners and support staff to provide comprehensive financial planning services to our clients through all stages of the development, presentation, and implementation of financial plans.

• Participate in on-going client meetings, with the goal of eventually taking on an equal share of lead responsibilities with three other planners.

• Provide objective, unbiased financial advice to clients of a variety of ages, incomes, and life stages.

• Respond to client questions and requests, assist with money management and office functions.

• Develop and deepen relationships with existing clients through regular contact and meetings that occur in person, on Zoom, and over the phone. Maintain client records in Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) system and other management software.

• Maintain continuing education requirements of a CFP®

• Adhere to company and industry compliance policies.

• Complete or delegate appropriate tasks alongside supporting staff members as appropriate.

• Develop new services within the financial planning process to meet the new and changing needs of our clients.

• Contribute to the growth of our firm.


Hours:

This is a full-time, in-person position based in Norwich, Vermont. Work hours can be flexible, if desired. Salary will reflect experience and qualifications.


Financial Planner Qualifications & Skills:

• A bachelor’s degree from accredited institution

• CFP® certification

• 3-5 years of client-facing experience

• Strong financial, analytical, and verbal/written skills

• A firm sense of fiduciary responsibility and personal integrity

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word and Excel)

• Experience with CRM software and the Schwab custodial platform is a plus
