Silver Oak Advisory Group is a mature, boutique financial planning and investment advisory firm in downtown Portland, Oregon. We have a dynamic small office environment (7 employees) that requires us to step up and help outside of our job titles. We have a knack for detailed work and a desire to create a welcoming space for our clients. We enjoy working together, but we also like to have fun together. Most importantly, we are all passionate about helping people reach their financial goals and supporting a collaborative team environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support advisors by helping prepare for, attending and following up from client meetings with notes and action items
  • Assist advisors with the organization and analysis of client information, periodic reporting, preparation of financial plans and responses to client questions
  • Assist with tax planning and tax return review tasks
  • Take initiative on other internal projects
  • Execute trades in client accounts

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years financial industry experience, including as a financial advisor executive assistant, operations or client services associate
  • Experience with financial planning software (MoneyGuide Pro or similar)
  • Experience with processes and procedures at Schwab Institutional or similar
  • Experience with trading on Schwab Institutional platform or similar
  • Familiarity with concepts of portfolio design and diversification with a focus on using Vanguard and Dimensional Fund Advisor investments
  • Fundamental understanding of comprehensive personal financial planning, including retirement planning, employee benefits, insurance, investing, asset allocation, estate planning, income tax and executive compensation
  • Strong proficiency with G Suite and Microsoft Office applications
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, organized and able to set priorities in managing projects
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, small-office environment

Salary depends on experience and will be based on a national average salary of $50,000-$70,000 per year.
