Zimmerman Wealth Management, LLC (TM) is hiring a Financial Planning Associate


Who are we? We are a well-established Fee-Only Financial Planning and Wealth Management firm in Evanston, Illinois; 2 blocks from both the CTA and Union Pacific North Line stations. We are large enough to be stable, while still small enough to maintain a great working environment and room to grow for the right person. Equity ownership in the future, for the right person.

What do we do? As an SEC-Registered Investment Advisor, we provide comprehensive fee-only financial planning and investment advisory services. Our primary focus is to help individuals and families reach their life goals by developing strategies and programs that help them achieve their financial goals. Our personalized service and commitment to the highest professional standards and practices allow us to offer expansive and flexible wealth management options.


What is the job? Provide the highest level of Planning Services to our clients. To act as our clients' advocate in solving any financial issues they might face in their lives. To construct customized financial plans for our clients, and help them implement the recommendations. To think deeply about each client/family, and recommend strategies to help them achieve their life goals. To think of, present to team and implement of new ways to help our clients stay thrilled with our firm. To be a go-to person at our firm to talk to clients and make a great impression with your kindness, competence and professionalism.


What do you need to have? At least a 2 year Associates Degree, but a Bachelor's degree, or beyond, is preferred. 2+ years financial services industry experience, or a recent college graduate with a major in Financial Planning. A Certificate as a CFP(tm) is preferred, but not necessary immediately, for the right candidate, as long as your are working towards it. Proficiency with professional-grade financial planning software. A commitment to doing it right the first time, and then checking to see if it can be done better. A commitment to doing the right thing, at all times. A commitment to acting as a Fiduciary: putting our clients' best interests first, period. The ability to exercise independent judgment and be self-motivated. You are detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks. You have strong communication skills, written and verbal. You have proficiency in Microsoft office products.

A Series 7 license or similar is not required or used, but is helpful. You do not need to have your own book of clients.

Other stuff:

Full time, Part-Time and Hybrid Office/Remote arrangements are a possibility for the right person.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
