Associate Financial Planner
Position Summary:
Trinity Financial Planning, a successful and growing fee-only small business, is in search of an Associate Financial Planner to provide technical financial planning and investment management support services. Under the direction and mentorship of the company owner/Principal and related senior staff, the position is anticipated to develop into lead advisor responsibilities. Performance as a problem solver through research and fact-finding, follow through, and ability to be a quick starter with new functions is needed.
Representative job duties include but are not limited to:
- Attend and participate in client meetings, building sound client relationships.
- Prepare client financial plans in Money Guide Pro and other software for review and/or use by the Principal. This includes analyzing multi-year projections for clients involving taxable distributions from mutual funds, multiple income sources, and withdrawals from retirement accounts.
- Analyze and make recommendations on tax planning strategies and insurance policies.
- Develop or apply skills to implement optimal asset allocations and portfolio rebalancing based on client risk-tolerance, cash needs, and tax efficiency of assets within taxable and tax-deferred accounts.
- Serve as a liaison to Schwab or other financial/business entities to execute client requests or financial plan actions.
- Manage client relationships, including: scheduling and all meeting preparation work, answer non-advisory questions, manage client service requests, and handle client account paperwork.
- Manage the business CRM as well as evaluate technology tools or applications for integration opportunities and to improve business efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned: serve as a liaison to vendors, assist with client billings & reconciliations, business bill payments, company insurance or licensing tasks, website updates. etc.
Qualifications
Education/Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in Personal Finance or other relevant field, from an accredited four-year college or university.
- 2 or more years of relevant work experience in financial services, accounting or similar field is desired.
- Being a CFP is ideal, alternately coursework toward CFP certification in progress is desired.
- Series 65 license a plus.
Representative Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to maintain strict client and business data confidentiality.
- Foundational knowledge of personal income taxes, investment strategies, and insurance analysis.
- Excellent computer proficiency - Office 365, and experience with financial planning software; this includes cloud-based technology such as WealthBox CRM, Box.com, ShareFile, etc.
- Strong organizational, data management and accuracy skills to manage client account transactions effectively and timely.
- Skill in conducting research, assessment and documenting of findings; ability to make logical recommendations based on research and findings.
- Professional verbal communications when working with a range of individuals (e.g., clients, colleagues, vendors, office visitors, etc.).
