Associate Wealth Advisor, Fairfax & Middleburg VA

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of our clients’ personal objectives and collaborate with our team and their other advisors to help them reach their goals

• Develop a mastery of Buckingham’s investment philosophy and evidence-based investing

• Serve day-to-day client needs and coordinate with all team members to ensure the highest possible level of service delivery

• Maintain accurate client data and records in our CRM and document management software

• Participate in the client onboarding process and periodic client reviews

• Prepare initial drafts of financial plans and tax projections

• Create a personalized Investment Policy Statement for each assigned client

• Monitor our clients’ ongoing investment progress including asset allocation, portfolio rebalancing and tax loss harvesting needs

• Develop an area of expertise on a firm process and/or advanced planning topic to add value to the firm’s expertise

• Support our business development efforts

• Actively participate in our team’s strategic priorities

Desired Skills and Experience

Education and Work Experience

• Bachelor’s degree

• CFP Certification

• 5 years of direct client-facing experience

• Self-starter, with the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment

• High personal ethical standards and sound judgement

• Well-developed interpersonal skills - able to build trusting relationships

• Ability to think critically and to present complex financial scenarios effectively

• Solid written and oral communication skills, clarity and accuracy are a must

• Strong attention to detail and able to proofread content

• Above average knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and Outlook

• Open and receptive to feedback and coaching
