Financial Advisor Internship

Summer Internship - Durham, North Carolina

June 5th – August 3rd, 2018

Build your client relationship and financial planning skills with a collegial, fast-paced firm showing steady growth over the past 25 years. You’ll work elbow-to-elbow with our advisors and principals on projects that will expose you to the skills required to run a successful independent advisory firm. Obtain hands-on experience with client meetings, investment selection, marketing, and operations. Spend two months residing in beautiful Durham, home to plenty of nightlife, outdoor recreation, and a diverse professional community.

Highlights:

• Observe client meetings

• Prepare client financial analyses

• Visit fund managers (options include NYC, Atlanta, Charlotte, D.C., and Denver)

• Research and propose changes to our investment line-up

• Design and execute marketing campaign directed at adult children of clients

• Test drive and recommend financial planning software

Ideal Candidate:

• Graduating May 2019 or May 2020

• Eager to build skills in financial planning and client relationship management

• Interest in actively-managed mutual fund selection process

• Self-starter, curious, and highly attentive to details

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Desire to pursue the CFP® designation upon graduation
