Job Purpose:
Independently provide comprehensive financial planning, investment consulting and related service to affluent individuals, families and organizations.
Responsibilities:
1) Investment Consulting & Service:
- Serve as primary financial advisor and investment consultant for 50-75 assigned individual, family and organizational clients, delivering exceptional advice and service to achieve high client satisfaction.
- Serve as secondary advisor for 50+ client relationships, helping primary advisor deliver exceptional advice and service in a team environment and serving as back up advisor when primary advisor is unavailable.
- Assess and monitor each client’s financial situation, goals, risk tolerance, issues, etc. to provide comprehensive and tailored financial planning and investment advice, and proactively propose portfolio rebalance suggestions, as needed.
- Assist with firm’s efforts to continually improve financial planning, investment consulting and client service processes.
- Help plan and execute client service communications and events like periodic newsletters, market commentaries, educational workshops, client recognition events, etc.
- Independently manage and execute a variety of other projects, as assigned.
- Lead or serve as member of firm’s Client Service, Financial Planning and Investment Committees.
2) Business Development:
- Assist with intake process for new clients, including the preparation of investment proposals for prospective clients.
- Assist President & CEO with business development activities, as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- BA or BS degree in finance or related field.
- CFP designation with strong belief in the value of comprehensive financial planning.
- 5+ years of experience independently serving as investment consultant for clients.
- 5+ years of experience performing comprehensive financial planning for clients.
- Demonstrated excellence in client service.
- Unquestionable personal and business ethics and integrity.
- Preference for and proficiency with executing consistent advice and service processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Pleasant, upbeat attitude with excellent interpersonal skills with clients and peers.
- Embraces team approach to advising and serving clients.
- Strong technical and analytical skills related to investment consulting and financial planning.
- Highly flexible with ability to work in changing environment.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and other software applications.
Preferred:
- Experience serving affluent clients with more complex financial situations.
- AIF designation and/or working knowledge of the Global Fiduciary Standards of Excellence developed by fi360.
- Experience with following websites and software:
- fi360 online platform or similar tool.
- MoneyGuidePro, FinaMetrica and/or equivalent financial planning software.
- Working knowledge of Black Diamond performance reporting software or similar tool.
- CRM software like Salesforce.com.
- Electronic document management software like Laserfiche.
- NAPFA-registered advisor
- Business development experience with strong desire to help firm grow and prosper.
