In 2020, Reggie Fairchild founded Flip Flops and Pearls Financial Planning to build an independent, fee-only financial planning firm centered on long-term relationships and thoughtful, fiduciary advice.
Reggie’s career spans technology, venture capital, and entrepreneurship, but at its core has always been about leadership and service. He spent many years at America Online (AOL) during the early growth of the internet, leading major initiatives including the launch of AOL 4.0 and overseeing AOL Instant Messenger (AIM). Earlier in his career, he worked in real estate investment and venture capital and earned his MBA from Cornell University.
In 2003, Reggie and his wife Judy chose to make Charleston, South Carolina their home, drawn by the coast, community, and the opportunity to build a life centered around family and meaningful work.
Reggie is an Eagle Scout and lifelong sailor, having taught sailing and canoeing in his youth and continuing to race competitively today. Time on the water, like financial planning, requires patience, discipline, adaptability, and respect for changing conditions. Those same principles guide his work with clients.
Today, Reggie and Judy focus on family, conservation, and community involvement, building a life rooted in service, the outdoors, and helping others navigate important decisions with clarity and care.
