Planning Specialties
Dan co-founded SummitView Advisors with a mission to help busy professionals and business owners make the most of their finances. Dan knows from personal experience how the demands of work and family life leave little time to spend on making key financial decisions.
Do you:
-Have a 401(k) and other investments but aren’t sure if your portfolio is being managed correctly?
-Want to figure out how to exit your business and transition to retirement?
-Receive stock options and RSUs but aren’t sure how to manage them?
-Want to be tax-savvy in all your financial decisions?
By partnering with his clients, Dan helps them identify their goals and decide on the best steps to take toward achieving them. This allows clients to free up their time and energy to spend elsewhere. Dan loves to dig into the weeds of complex planning strategies, while keeping the focus on the big picture.
Additional Information
Prior to co-founding SummitView Advisors, Dan worked for two multi-billion-dollar advisory firms where he focused on building tailored portfolios for clients. After working at the larger organizations, he wanted to start a firm where he could give a more personalized experience and specialize in who he worked with. Dan is a CFA® charterholder and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. He holds a BA from Calvin College and a MBA from the University of Notre Dame. Dan also teaches an investment class at Western Michigan University.
Dan serves on the boards of Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes and the CFA Society of West Michigan. Dan grew up in Grand Rapids and now lives in Kalamazoo. He works with clients throughout Michigan and virtually across the US.
When he isn’t working with clients, Dan and his wife, Claire, spend most of their time chasing around after their two young daughters. They also enjoy hiking along the lakeshore, playing a quick nine holes, and trying to find the best Tex-Mex restaurant at whatever city they are in.
