Planning Specialties

Besides the above mentioned areas of practice we specialize in creating tax efficient investment portfolios.  In other words, we determine which investments should be placed in taxable accounts, tax deferred accounts like 401ks, and tax free accounts like Roth IRAs or Roth 401ks.  Different investments are taxed differently and over time a tax efficient portfolio can provide a greater return.
 
We are well versed in analyzing the cost effectiveness, performance and guarantees of annuity contracts.  While we do analyze annuities, we do not sell them.
 
 

Additional Information

Charlie worked for several fee-only firms before starting his own practice.
 
He has also worked as a financial planning software developer which helped give him a deep technical understanding of the tax code, investment theory and the ability to model most financial situations.
 
Additionally, he is a financial researcher whose work has been published in the Journal of Financial Planning, featured in The Wall Street Journal and presented at several financial planning conferences.
 
Charlie earned a Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, Finance at Northeastern University.
 
He is a retired Navy commander.
