Additional Information
I am driven by a strong passion to be of service to individuals on a personal level concerning financial & tax planning. I am a CFP® Professional who transitioned to the financial planning business in 2008.
After first working as an advisor for other companies, I saw an opportunity to found my own firm, Hazel Financial, in 2014 to focus on financial life planning for individuals and business owners. To further align my work in helping clients achieve their life goals and connect their life with their money, in 2018 Hazel Financial began doing business as Magnificent Life Financial Planning.
I truly believe in education —my own and teaching others. My father was an ASU professor and my mother a teacher and administrator in elementary education. I initially studied physics and engineering at Occidental College in Eagle Rock, Calif., ultimately graduating from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s in Asian languages. (I speak Japanese conversationally.) After a few years in the business environment, I earned my MBA from Grand Canyon University, while working full time. Through continuing education and participation in industry forums, I stay abreast of current industry products, standards, and practices to maintain my position as an invaluable resource to my clients. As a devoted educator, I teach financial courses at Rio Salado College and have been actively involved in my community, serving on various charitable boards and organizations in support of education.
I am a six-time Ironman finisher and 10-time finisher of the San Diego Rock & Roll Marathon. A long-time Arizona resident, I am the proud father of two sons and a daughter and enjoy reading, hiking, and outdoor activities.
