Additional Information

I am a former attorney and a proud fiduciary to my clients. I work with young professionals who have an idea of where they want to go in life, but would like to develop a clearer path for getting there. They typically have strong personal interests outside of work, and would like to strike an appropriate balance between vital recreation and long-term saving strategies. Their goals are more unique than "retirement" or "college planning" such as, how do we travel internationally every year without compromising our long-term plan? As an avid skiier and as someone who has traveled to 32 countries in my 41 years, I love helping clients answer these types of questions.

When meeting with people for the first time, the question I get more than any other is why did you give up a career as an attorney to become a financial planner? The answer is simple: I felt I could have a more positive impact as a proactive planner engaged in preventative medicine than as an attorney engaged in reactive emergency care. My prior law practice was focused on bankruptcy and debt negotiation, and I represented far too many households who had enjoyed decades of success prior to unexpected financial struggle. In fact, a notable percentage still had a six-figure income at the time their bankruptcy case was filed. This experience taught me two things. First, high household income alone does not allow for the financial freedom that we all seek. Second, the vast majority of households do not have a true financial plan in place -- they are simply living week-to-week & month-to-month with the hope that things will work out for the best in the long run. I became a financial planner because I was inspired to help young people achieve financial freedom and realize their dreams.
