Planning Specialties
Holistic means I work with you on all areas of your financial life including investments, retirement planning, insurance planning, estate planning, tax planning and preparation, and financial and life goals among others. I help to integrate all of these different areas together into a comprehensive plan that makes sense for you.
Fee-only means I sell nothing but my advice. I do not receive commissions, nor do I pay or accept referral or finder's fees.
If you are like most people, you have several pieces of your financial plan in place – you pay taxes, invest in the market, have some insurance, and maybe have an estate and retirement plan. However, it is likely that each of these pieces was developed independently and at different times in your life. Is it any surprise that you wonder whether you are on the right path and making the best possible progress?
I work with you to put all the pieces of your financial life together into one comprehensive plan that matches your goals and values. Instead of just telling you what to do, I work together with you, educating you and providing you with easy-to-understand recommendations and helping you implement them every step of the way.
For a yearly retainer fee, I work with you on an ongoing basis. We have regularly scheduled meetings to cover each financial planning topic that is relevant to you. In addition, I am available to provide advice any time you request it on the financial matters that concern you at no additional cost to you.
Additional Information
I had a wonderful 28-year career in the high technology industry with 21 years as a software engineer. Although I thoroughly enjoyed my previous career, personal financial planning and investing have also been my hobbies and passion for over 25 years, and I felt drawn to turning this passion into a career where I can help people achieve their personal and financial goals.
I started investing and planning for the future when I signed up for my employer’s 401(k) plan when I was 24 years old. Ever since then, I have been learning about investing and personal financial planning because I found it enjoyable and fun, but also because I wanted to have more choices in my life as I got older. To me money is not about getting more of it just so you can increase your lifestyle and buy more things but rather, it is about giving you more choices in life so that you can reach the goals and dreams you have for your family, your business, and yourself, and ultimately have peace of mind and security.
When my parents became ill in 2011, they asked me to help them with their investments and other financial affairs. At that time, I was on a sabbatical from my previous career evaluating what I wanted to do next. That experience with my parents became the catalyst for me to focus on becoming a professional financial planner and advisor so I can help other people reach their personal and financial goals, and be there to help them through life’s transitions.
I earned my Certificate in Financial Planning from the UGA Terry College of Business. I also hold an AS degree in electronics engineering and a BS degree in computer science. I love the beach and watching sunsets with my wife, bicycle riding, walking our dog Lily, and cooking new recipes while enjoying a glass of wine.
