Empowered Retirement, Inc is an independent, fee-only Registered Investment Advisor. We provide financial planning and investment services for those who are retired or close to it. Asta Sanders, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, and Enrolled Agent specializes in comprehensive financial planning, tax planning, and asset management for retirees or soon-to-be retirees, women in transition who are looking for a trusted advisor to help navigate career change, unexpected widowhood, divorce or inheritance. If you have investment real estate, I would be glad to help you to determine if you are getting the rate of return that you truly desire and how it fits into your overall financial plan.

I have been in the business for over twenty years, but it was never my goal to win the popularity contest between advisors. I believe that my time is spent the best on helping my clients with whatever challenges they face. Maybe your yearly tax review will uncover that you should use a much different strategy to transfer some assets to your children, maybe your investments were placed in the wrong accounts, or perhaps you need to figure out the most beneficial way to start taking social security or it is time to navigate Medicare options. Should you do a Roth conversion this year, if so, how much? Should you move your assets to the trust? Have you looked at your healthcare proxy lately? Do you even have one? My job is to answer these and many more questions that my clients face every day.

If you are looking for an advisor that wants to be on CNBC one day and radio show the next, or who spends his or her time entertaining journalists, and only care to increase the number of clients, that would not be me. But if you are looking for an advisor who cares about your financial wellbeing, who knows your birthday and the names of your children and grandchildren, and who spend most of her free time educating herself on constant changes in different laws that can have a substantial impact on client lives, then I would love to have you as a client.

My only goal is to design the best possible lives for our clients by applying my expertise and know-how, so you don’t have to learn it all, but instead, you can spend your time getting a return on your life, while we get a return on your money. Life is not a dress rehearsal after all!

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my kids. You are most likely to find me on a hiking trail, kayaking, skiing, gardening, or enjoying a good book.
