Planning Specialties
I specialize in working with:
- Families who comprise multiple clients, maintaining confidentiality yet also coordinating larger family goals and values
- Single/divorced/widowed middle-aged women
- Professional individuals and couples, ages 40-65, planning for retirement
- Non-profits and family foundations who wish to align their investments with their values
I work with a client's whole financial picture, beginning with their goals and ending with a comprehensive financial plan that allows confidence to spend and give in a sustainable way. Financial projections that allow high net worth clients and family foundations to look far into the future as to what is possible is one of the most rewarding tasks I do.
Additional Information
My family’s financial circumstances did not present an easy path in my teen years. I would have preferred to blend in a bit more at that awkward stage of life. My free lunch tickets were a different color from everyone else’s and the utilities at home were sometimes under threat of being shut off. Happily, the career path that sprang from those “have not” years provided me with a wealth of opportunities to explore my angst around money. Curious about the intersection between culture, society, and money, I traveled to Nigeria for master’s thesis research to study businesses run by secluded and veiled women. I found they had more control over their destinies and earnings than I imagined would be true. Combining a liberal arts education with both a master's in organzational psychology and a CFP® certification, rounded out my studies.
Time and perspective have, of course, shown me that my early experiences don’t even register on a global poverty scale, but I’m quite sure they lent some useful grit and resiliency to the way I live my life. As a financial advisor, I bring that same practice of hard work as well as a fine attention to detail to my clients' lives. My most rewarding client relationships are not as merely someone at the other end of the phone but as a trusted friend and professional who works as a long-term partner in all aspects of their financial lives.
In my freetime, I grow much of my family's produce year-round in my large garden and orchard. Trail running, knitting (including baby hats for many a client), volunteering, and traveling round out my days.
