Additional Information

Beyond addressing his client’s short and long-term financial needs, Steve’s work involves helping clients remain tax-efficient and prepared to sustain their lifestyles into retirement. As such, he spends a lot of time reviewing and reinforcing clients’ goals and aspirations. He also guides clients to look past the immediate future and towards their personal legacies, considering what they want their lives to look like in 10, 20, or 30 years.

Outside of Credent, Steve has been a board member and has served as the President of the Alliance of Comprehensive Planners (ACP), an organization dedicated to building up the community of fiduciary advisors. He is also active in his church, assisting with English as Second Language (ESL) classes. Steve previously taught financial literacy classes for Habitat for Humanity and has volunteered as a counselor and mentor to juvenile offenders.

Steve's professional story starts in the property and casualty insurance business, where he owned an agency for a number of years. Even while working in the property and casualty business, Steve had a strong personal interest in finance and investments as well as coaching and counseling his clients toward their goals. When he eventually decided to pursue financial planning as his full-time occupation, Steve sold the agency and opened Conscious Money Solutions, which merged into Credent Wealth Management in 2022.

Steve also served as a member of the U.S. Air Force. He and his wife, Connie, married in 1974 at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM. They moved to Amarillo, TX in 1978 and have remained there ever since. When not helping clients, Steve likes to spend time with his children and grandchildren, scuba dive, snow ski, and travel (especially to somewhere warm and sunny).
