Additional Information
It all started with a paper route.
A former analyst at Morningstar with over three decades of investing experience — he bought his first mutual fund at age 12 using proceeds from a paper route — Greg saw that many people weren’t being well served by existing investment and financial planning products.
He attended Michigan State University and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He went on to work at Dell Computer and later earned his graduate degree from University of Chicago. Greg learned early on in his career that he had a knack for numbers, and was passionate about finance, research, and investing.
However, the more he researched, the more Greg saw that the commission structures that dominated the financial industry often meant that clients didn’t always receive the best advice. Family and friends who now had sizable portfolios were no longer comfortable managing them and were confused by too much conflicting information to continue DIY-ing their money management.
Some had hired financial planners for help but were often disappointed by the complexity, the time-consuming 30+ page reports they received, and the lack of easy access to their own financial plans and investment details. Others were turned off by feeling like they were being “sold to” whenever they met with their advisors.
He knew there was a better way.

Founder Greg Brown, CFP® set out to create a new kind of financial planning service to help people build wealth and plan for their financial future, without the headache of financial jargon and hidden motivations or incentives. Now, after more than a decade, Greg spends his time focused on guiding his clients through the vagaries of life — course correcting if necessary — and keeping their money aligned with their goals and dreams.
