Jim volunteers with Clark Howard's Consumer Action Center answering consumer's financial questions.
He completed the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional Education Program through Emory University and passed the rigorous two-day 10-hour CFP® Certification Examination. He will be authorized to use the CFP® mark of distinction after completing the CFP Board of Standard’s specific experience requirements. In addition to NAPFA, Jim is an active member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), and The Garrett Planning Network, Inc.
Jim graduated from Siena College in New York State with a BBA degree in Accounting and received a CPA certificate after working with the accounting firm, KPMG, LLP. He also holds a Masters degree in Business Administration, earned in 1985 from University of New York at Albany.
Jim is self-described as frugal and a long-time, long-term personal investor. When not working, he enjoys spending time at home with his wife and their daughter and two dogs, sailing, camping, and hiking. As of July 4th, 2011, Jim has completed, his 20th consecutive Peachtree 10K Road Race. He is an active member of his local church and has also volunteered in the IRS VITA program.
