Planning Specialties

I am a Principal, Wealth Manager, and Chief Investment Officer at Modera Wealth Management, LLC.  I work with individuals, families, small business owners, and senior business executives in all aspects of financial planning advice, portfolio design and investment management, retirement planning, tax planning and risk management.  I have always had a commitment to Fee-Only planning.  For more than twenty years, I have been fortunate to work with many wonderful clients helping them with multifaceted wealth strategies and providing guidance on investment strategies, markets and economic trends. We try to educate clients and try to deeply understand their complex questions and goals.  We want clients to better recognize their financial goals, choices, circumstances and options so they can focus on what’s most important to them and their families.  We communicate to clients clearly and succinctly.

Professionally, I think my clients appreciate the depth and breadth of the experience I can offer.  I hold both the Chartered Financial Analyst® accreditation and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. I am also an adjunct faculty member teaching Investment Planning in Boston University’s Certified Financial Planning Program. I have served as a featured speaker at seminars and conferences on a variety of investment topics and have been quoted in various publications including: the New York Times,, Financial Times, Bloomberg Markets, Journal of Financial Planning, Reuters, and The Boston Globe.

Additional Information

I have found that clients have many interests that align with my values such as recognizing that life isn’t just about the numbers.  I focus my volunteer and charitable efforts in three main areas; education, cancer support, and community healthcare.  I provide pro bono financial planning services to cancer patients and their families through a partnership with the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the FPA of Massachusetts. I have been active as a member of the Business Advisory Council for the Sam Fund, an Overseer for the Beth Israel Milton Hospital.  I am an alumni interviewer for Colby College.  I earned a Master of Business Administration degree in finance from Boston College’s Carroll Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colby College. I am an alumnus of Boston College High School.

I am a native of Massachusetts and now live in Westwood, Massachusetts with my wife Marjorie and my two daughters. I try to remain as active as possible by running, skiing (a lifelong passion), cycling and playing ice hockey with friends.  Our family enjoys hiking and visiting national parks together.  I have run eight marathons, including the Boston Marathon four times and four Mount Washington Road Races (It’s only one hill).
