Planning Specialties
Therese’s interest in retirement issues is anchored in her personal experience as the youngest of nine siblings, all born between the baby-boomer years of 1946 and 1961.
She and her siblings have been talking about investing and retirement for years, and she's been a very interested observer as they start or put off retiring. In her family, she's seen many third acts:
- The classic retirement of travel and leisure
- Retirement shaped by serious volunteer work
- Retirement delayed by market events
- A retirement of reinvention — into a second career
- Semi-retirement, started early with plans for working late into life
Seeing many retirements up close has given her a good understanding of the financial and non-financial issues associated with this major life transition.
Additional Information
Therese has been a fee-only planner since 2002. She worked at Cotton Financial Advisors as a staff planner, and then with trueNorth Financial Services as a principal, before launching her own firm in 2012. Prior to becoming a financial planner, she spent many years as a CPA working in private industry.
