Philip earned a BA in economics from Kalamazoo College in Michigan and completed the financial planning program at Boston University. He received his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ mark in 2004.

Philip is a former member of the board of directors for the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) for the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Region. He has participated in NAPFA's "Tips from the Top" Web series and has contributed to the Boston Globe's "Money Makeover" and has been quoted by the Wall Street Journal, Kiplinger’s, AARP: Ask The Expert, BankRate.com and other national financial magazine and blogs.
