Additional Information

I help clients answer the financial questions that might otherwise keep them up at night. Advising on retirement, tax, risk, education, or estate planning – or all of the above through comprehensive financial planning – I help people navigate the complex and interrelated aspects of personal finance. My expertise in the securities industry, combined with my experience working with people from diverse cultures and economic backgrounds, informs my work,

Prior to joining MCS Family Wealth Advisors in 2004, I was chief compliance officer and director of operations and IT at a $5B fee-only institutional fixed-income investment advisor. My career in finance began at the global headquarters of Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) in Zurich and was followed by five years in the firm's North American headquarters in New York City.

I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in a Carib Amerindian rainforest village in Suriname, South America, and I am an active volunteer with local community service organizations (including Foothill Family Shelter in Upland, CA, Family School in Eugene, OR, FPA of Central Oklahoma, Rotary International, Horse Feathers Equine Rescue, Norman Citizens for Racial Justice). Since 2016 I have served as Board of Directors chair for the Lutheran Volunteer Corps (LVC), a community of faith uniting people to work for peace with justice. LVC places volunteers with full-time positions in social justice non-profit organizations while training volunteers to live sustainably in intentional community, to dismantle racism, and to explore their spirituality.

I enjoy being outside and active (hiking, biking, swimming). I am fluent in English, German, and Sranan Tongo (a Surinamese creole language), and I speak a smattering of French and Dutch.
