Planning Specialties
My work focuses on comprehensive financial planning, with a particular emphasis on tax planning and retirement income. This includes optimizing savings and retirement contributions, evaluating Roth conversion opportunities, tax-efficient retirement withdrawals, Social Security claiming decisions, investment allocation across account types, charitable giving strategies, required minimum distributions, and Medicare premium surcharges (IRMAA).
I also help clients through major financial transitions, including retirement, the loss of a spouse, and inherited assets. These situations often involve overlapping investment, tax, estate, and cash flow decisions that benefit from careful coordination.
Additional Information
I’m Julie Kist, founder and wealth advisor at Kelos Wealth Planning. With more than 25 years of experience in financial services, I work with people who want a collaborative partner to bring clarity to their financial trajectory and help them make informed decisions.
Many of my clients are approaching or enjoying retirement, navigating a life change, or looking for more proactive guidance and coordination. Some have managed their finances for years, while others are taking a more active role for the first time. I particularly enjoy working with women, whether they’re managing finances independently or stepping into decisions they previously shared or delegated.
Good planning goes beyond answering questions as they arise. It means anticipating decisions, spotting opportunities early, and giving clients confidence that someone is paying attention to the details.
