Hi, I’m Vanessa Alanis, founder of Black Dog Wealth, CFP®, ChFC®, AFC®, and MQFP®. I’m a military spouse, mom of three, and proud owner of the black dog who inspired the firm’s name. He’s my daily reminder that life (and financial planning) can be unpredictable — especially when the vet bills hit. Before founding Black Dog Wealth, I spent years helping families and professionals navigate real-life money decisions — from managing cash flow and balancing competing goals to planning for transitions like career changes, home purchases, or retirement.
