When you think of a Financial Advisor, do you think of an outgoing, “alpha male” in a suit and tie that is going to talk your ear off about investments or buying more life insurance? Well, that’s not me. At all.
I first started working for an advisor while still in college. It did not take me long to decide that this was the profession for me. The impact of this profession goes far beyond dollar signs. In fact, the best relationships and meetings I have been a part of are ones where money is barely discussed. Through these years I learned a lot about both the technical and people skills needed to be in this industry. However, through learning more about traditional financial advisor practices, something just was not sitting well with me. In some instances, I felt people were overcharged. In other instances, people were not getting the attention they deserved. This lead me to look heavily into the other options in the industry where I quickly came across XY Planning Network and was introduced to the fee-only world. Furthermore, I found the flat-fee world. Where pricing can be based on the complexity of your financial life, not just on how much wealth you have accumulated in investment assets.
From there, I finally pulled the trigger and launched 308 Financial in January of 2024, setting out to specialize in serving early and mid-career medical professionals.
