Mitchell Nelson
Mitchell is a locally recognized expert on the design and implementation of insured income protection strategies. Mitchell entered the financial services industry with MetLife in 2004 as an employee benefits consultant working with small to medium sizes businesses constructing and implementing non-medical insurance strategies. Mitch’s role at MetLife was to grow the block of business in Minnesota and South Dakota which included the profitable growth of new business clients.
In 2010, Mitch left MetLife to start an independent income protection agency focused on serving fee – only financial advisors in finding the best answers to client’s income and asset protection needs. MyDisabilityPlans, LLC is now recognized as one of the leading disability insurance planning organizations dedicated to fee-only financial professionals. In 2010 Mitchell cofounded MyDisabilityPlans, LLC with George Davidson to bring Fee-Only Financial Advisors better insured income protection strategies through enhanced services and work products to better meet the needs of the affluent client marketplace.
Mitchell is a member of International Disability Insurance Society and is a member of the Minnesota Financial Planner Association and has served on their New Member Committee and currently serves on the Next Gen Planning Committee.
