Ethics CE: CFP Board's Revised Code and Standards

This CFP Board-approved continuing education course fulfills the 2-hour ethics requirement and has been designed to educate CFP® professionals regarding the new Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct effective October 1, 2019. The revised Code and Standards content emphasizes the significant changes from previous Standards and how these changes affect CFP® professionals. Additionally, the course reviews CFP Board's fiduciary duty, the application of the Practice Standards when providing financial planning, the recognition of circumstances in which specific information must be provided to a client, and material conflicts of interest.

Learning Objectives:
• Identify the structure and content of the revised Code and Standards, including significant changes and how the changes affect CFP® professionals.
• Act in accordance with CFP Board's fiduciary duty.
• Apply the Practice Standards when providing Financial Planning.
• Recognize situations when specific information must be provided to a Client.
• Recognize and avoid, or fully disclose and manage, Material Conflicts of Interest.
