Financial Planner

Steigerwald, Gordon & Koch is looking for an experienced financial planner to join our team committed to excellence. Located in Leesburg, VA, we are an independent, boutique-style, fee-only financial planning and investment management firm providing a collaborative work environment. We are passionate about comprehensive planning, helping our clients find financial peace of mind and giving them back one of their most valuable resources: time.

Key Job Functions:

• Serve clients with a fiduciary responsibility

• Provide financial planning and investment advisory support

• Facilitate business development initiatives

Provide a Superior Client Experience:

• Manage relationships and client experiences as both a primary and a supporting financial planner

• Work as a member of the planning team to develop financial strategies designed to meet the specific needs and wants of our clients

• Address client service needs with internal team members and external subject matter experts

• Maintain an understanding of the investment strategy of SGK

• Stay current on services and regulations that could impact our clients

Facilitate Business Development:

• Identify opportunities to establish relationships with potential prospects, clients, and strategic partners

• Represent SGK externally by attending and/or presenting at client and prospect events

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree

• 5 years of experience providing advanced planning directly with clients is preferred

• CFP® designation is required

• Strong knowledge of key financial, investment and risk management concepts

• A passion to help clients achieve their goals

• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong attention to detail, and exceptional follow through

• Outstanding communication and relationship building skills

• Excellent project management skills with ability to prioritize and track multiple tasks

• Empathy and great active listening skills

• The ability to think clearly, communicate succinctly, and write well

• Fundamental knowledge and hands on experience working with eMoney and Holistiplan preferred
