Job Description

The Associate Advisor uses analytical, financial and qualitative skills to support the firm’s

senior advisors by gathering client financial information, preparing schedules and first drafts of personal financial statements, while utilizing financial planning software to draft retirement projections. The Associate Advisor also prepares tax returns, tax projections, and conducts tax research. The Associate has significant client contact in a supporting role, primarily to communicate with clients to gather information and provide the primary advisor with feedback. The Associate seeks approval or consults with the primary client advisor before making or implementing recommendations. The successful candidate will receive on the job training in all wealth management areas, and in consultation with the firm principals, will develop a plan for continuing education and career advancement. This position is highly visible to all advisors and senior executives of the organization. It is a very good opportunity to learn all disciplines of wealth management from a leading firm and advisors. Knowledge areas include: Tax strategy and preparation, investment management, estate planning, financial planning and client relationship management.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with the review and rebalancing client portfolios, prepare trade tickets, communicate trade orders with Argent trading, and perform other investment support tasks.

• Assist in the preparation and review of client quarterly performance reports.

• Ensure the implementation of client’s financial, estate and investment plans,

following through on all transactions to ensure timeliness, accuracy and efficiency.

• Work with senior advisors to respond to client requests and participate in client meetings.

• Prepare first draft of client reports such as retirement projections, cash flow statements, and balance sheets.

• Learn firm’s portfolio management software and use it to prepare various investment reports and review client quarterly investment performance reports.

• Use firm’s CRM system to document client’s financial, estate, tax, insurance, etc. plans

• Prepare individual and trust tax projections, returns and conduct tax research.

• Beginning around February 1st of each year through April 15th, primary focus and role is tax return preparation. This may include extra hours and workload. Candidate should be prepared to work the tax season.

• Work on tax estimates on quarter end to alleviate workload from senior advisors.

• Perform other financial, tax and investment planning duties and projects as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, with relevant coursework in Accounting, Economics, Finance or

Investments from a four-year college or university.

• Ability to multi-task, troubleshoot, problem solve and act as a team player.

• Strong commitment to outstanding client service

• Willingness and desire to learn all facets of wealth management

• Organizational skills, attention to detail, strong follow-through and a commitment to

client satisfaction.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with ability to quickly develop core

competencies with new applications and interfaces.

• Solid communication skills, both oral and written, which includes ability to effectively

present information and respond to questions from staff and clients.
