DESCRIPTION

Young Wealth Management is looking for an experienced Financial Planning Assistant for our fee-only financial planning firm in Davis, California. Young Wealth Management has offered high quality, personalized financial planning services to clients within the Davis and Sacramento area since 2008. This position is full-time or variable time (not less than 75%), and the successful candidate may be able to work remotely at times.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide administrative support utilizing financial planning (Envestnet® MoneyGuide), billing (QuickBooks), document management (NetDocuments) and client relationship management (Redtail) software programs.

• Scan and electronically file documents using cloud-based document management software and handle other administrative work as needed.

• Assist with the development of financial plans; review documents and enter data into financial planning software. Perform calculations for hypothetical scenarios.

• Multi-task various projects - e.g., assist in the development of workflows within the firm’s CRM software.

• Assist the Financial Advisor in placing trades and rebalancing investment portfolios.

• Assist in preparing documents to be presented at client appointments; and review client materials as requested by the Financial Advisor.

• Coordinate client meetings, including corresponding with the client, scheduling the meeting and drafting client meeting notes.

• Prepare all new account forms, then review them to confirm that documents are complete and accurate.

• Continually monitor and initiate action on alerts received from the investment account custodian.

• Create, maintain, and track clients’ required minimum distributions (RMDs) from tax-deferred accounts utilizing in-house and custodian’s resources.

• Print and send out, or exchange through clients’ secure online portal, various reports using the firm’s IT systems.

• Proactively research and suggest ways to use technology to streamline client interactions and communication.

• Comply with all continuing educational requirements.

• Series 65 securities license preferred but not required. Must be willing to obtain this license within one year of hire.

• California Registered Tax Preparer (CRTP/CTEC) preferred but not required.

• California Life and Health Insurance license preferred but not required.

REQUIREMENTS

• One to three years of financial services industry or other relevant work experience is required.

• Bachelor’s degree is required, ideally in finance, business, accounting, or related field.

• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Must be proficient in the use of the MS Windows operating system and the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).

• Ability to work in a small office environment.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Exceptional organizational skills.
