The Support Advisor assists and supports the Service and Senior Advisors in the development and delivery of financial and investment plans for the firm’s clients. The development and delivery of financial and investment plans requires knowledge of tax and investment strategies, securities, insurance, employee benefits, cash flow and real estate financing. Duties include assessing clients’ assets, liabilities, cash flow, insurance coverage, tax status, financial goals and objectives, and implementing and monitoring the client’s investment policy and financial plan.

The Support Advisor provides leverage to the Service and Senior Advisors by assisting with the direction, coordination, and delivery of the firm’s services. Responsibilities include training fellow employees, planning, assigning, and directing work when necessary, and resolving problems.

The Support Advisor interacts with the client in a manner that is consistent to the superior client experience they should expect from HIGHLAND. The client’s positive experience with the Support Advisor helps to create value for the client in the HIGHLAND relationship.

The Support Advisor communicates effectively with clients in both written and spoken language. The Support Advisor is passionate, outgoing, social, and always greets a client in person or on the phone with a smile. In general, the Support Advisor’s duties will include responding appropriately to client inquiries and initiate requests with clients on behalf of the advisor team including, but not limited to:

• communicate with clients and collect data necessary to develop financial plan

• prepare account applications for clients to sign as needed

• track progress of applications through custodians’ processes

• keep client and advisor informed of progress

• ensure that client’s accounts are set up in a standardized manner

• manage money movement authorization for clients

• develop financial planning analysis and coordinate with Lead Advisors

• coordinate the implementation and monitoring of clients' investment portfolios

• manage service offerings for clients

• manage workflows for client on-boarding

Requirements: CFP® Designation, a strong work ethic, excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in MS Office. Positive attitude, service-minded approach to clients and colleagues. Ability to self-manage and escalate issues as required. Organized, deadline-responsive, approachable, appropriately assertive. Experience with Schwab or TD Ameritrade a plus.
