Tobias Financial Advisors is looking for a Financial Advisor for our team in Plantation, FL. As a Financial Advisor/Portfolio Specialist you will be responsible for client relationship management and will play a key role in the development, management, and implementation of our portfolios and investment strategy. The ideal candidate will have a passion for investing and portfolio management and be passionate about working with new and existing clients to develop financial plans that provide peace of mind and help them achieve their financial goals. You will be the lead advisor on most client relationships and may be an associate advisor on more complex relationships, and always as part of a team working together to meet our clients’ needs.

In this position, your typical day might include the following:

Investments – 30%

  • Work with the Chief Investment Officer to construct and manage all client portfolios
  • Perform investment research to include asset class, sector, and individual security analysis
  • Gather and interpret investments data as well as make relevant recommendations
  • Participate in all investment team meetings and serve as a member of the Investment Committee
  • Develop personalized investment policy statements by working with clients to structure their investments to meet their goals.
  • Deliver portfolio reviews to provide ongoing education of the firm’s investment strategy.
  • Lead projects to review and streamline investment management, portfolio analysis and rebalancing, and work with the operations team to implement innovative tools and solutions that drive efficiency
  • Key player in investment content development and assist in delivery of quarterly market update webinars

Client Relationship Management & Financial Planning – 70%

  • Act as a fiduciary on behalf of the Client in all advisory related matters
  • Meet high net worth individuals and families to strengthen the client and advisor relationship
  • Work with the marketing team to develop content that promotes the capabilities and strengths of the firm
  • Determine a client’s goals, objectives, and unique circumstances to create a comprehensive financial plan encompassing all areas of personal wealth management on a proactive basis
  • Work with CPAs or associate advisors to review quarterly and/or annual (year-end) tax planning opportunities
  • Conduct research based on individual client needs in relation to many areas such as estate planning, investments, social security, etc.
  • Contribute to the firm’s culture of business development (e.g., attending client events and/or networking with centers of influence and developing strategic firm initiatives)

The skills and qualifications that you will need to succeed are:


  • Bachelor’s degree and CFP® certificate required
  • Graduate degree or other professional certifications (e.g. CFA, CIMA, CPA) a plus, but not required
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of financial advisor experience with expertise in investments / portfolio management
  • Demonstrated passion for the Financial Planning profession
  • Capacity to build and strengthen client and circle of influence relationships
  • Ability to identify, meet, and follow through with client needs and requirements
  • Organized with a strong attention to detail and ethical standards
