Associate financial planner / Paraplanner

Part time – 3 days/week

We are seeking a financial planning associate to join our team. If you are interested in financial planning, the investment management business, and want to grow professionally by working alongside an experienced advisor, this position may be a good fit for you.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about client service, good communicators, self-starters, highly organized, pay attention to details, and can follow-through on activities on a timely manner.

The primary purpose of a financial planning associate is to support the financial advisor.


Responsibilities include:

• Support the creation and updating of financial plans including gathering information on current client circumstances

• Prepare charts, graphs, tables and other visual aids to be used in meetings with clients

• Assemble the deliverables for client review meetings, including meeting agenda, portfolio performance reports, financial summaries.

• Review investment allocations using Excel and portfolio rebalancing software.

• Accurately enter and manage business reports for compliance purposes.

• Assist in on boarding new clients.

• Prepare and coordinate marketing activities including newsletters and website.

• Communicate effectively and professionally in person, in writing, and verbally with clients, prospects, and others in the organization.

• Ensure tasks are completed and documented accordingly

• Conduct client specific research


Education & Experience

• Certified Financial Planner designation or course study towards designation. Passed the CFP exam a strong plus.

• Undergraduate degree with high GPA

• Work experience in the finance/investment management industries and/or demonstrated client service experience

• Degrees in finance, economics, financial planning, or business administration are desired but not required.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to pass a background check.

• Desire to work in a small business environment

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and a high level of honesty and integrity

• Enthusiasm to learn and help clients.

• Knowledge of the securities industry, financial planning, and investment management.

• Professional demeanor and ability to maintain a warm inviting office environment.

• Ability to anticipate colleague and client needs and pith in where needed.

• Savvy with technology with the ability to learn in-house programs and tools.

• Microsoft Excel power user.

• Ability to maintain full compliance with Federal and State securities laws, regulations and internal policies and procedures.

• Ability to trouble shoot and work independently.
